Re: Blair's true colours
That was well before the crisis. More evidence of him not being a genius.

To be fair, if I was going to sell all our gold reserves i'd have done it suddenly one afternoon when the market was all at Cheltenham, so I could buy it all back next morning for half the money. Instead, Brown preannounced it weeks (months?) in advance so the market could drive down the price by selling short and take their profit when he sold.

The dipshit.

Re: Blair's true colours
would you have sold the gold reserves at such a low price? that was a masterstroke, pure genius by the jock Cyclops cunt

Re: Blair's true colours
I would have done exactly the same, though I might have let RBS and Lloyds go properly bust and guaranteed the deposits and stood in as counter-party for its money market commitments.

The point being:

a) it wasn't Brown plan
b) it wasn't a genius plan, it was the only serious option.

If you'd bothered to read my post properly, that would have been clear and you wouldn't have needed to be aggressive and rude while still making a dick of yourself.

King: Gordon?

Brown: Yes

King: Don' forget to buy Lloyds and RBS. Remember, like I told you when Northern Rock went bust.

Brown: I'm on the case, Merv.

The genius Brown plan in full

Brown: (phones Governor of the Bank of England, Mervyn King) Fuck me, Merv, what the fuck are we going to do?

King: Cut interest rates to zero, do quantitative easing, provide unlimited liquidity into money markets, pretend everything will be OK, clench your bum cheeks and pray.

BrownK OK.

Re: Blair's true colours
Brown's plans for recovery from the banking crisis were a work of genius when all the rest had no idea how to cope. Then came Osborne with austerity and increased VAT and brought the recovery down to a snail's pace.

Blair is one of those people, who assume that if somebody doesn't agree with his opinions, it's because they are too thick to understand them.

Never enters their head, that people do understand the opinions, they just happen to disagree with them.

I fucking hate people like that.

Whatever you feel about Tony Blair, and yes Iraq will forever stain his reputation, he's a marvellous orator and speaks much sense on Brexit

What a cunt. Bit like saying Hitler was a great public speaker.

Re: Blair's true colours
Anyone would have thought they didn't have a chance to put their case during the referendum campaign.

Sadly, at the time they had other, more pressing, trough-snouting opportunities to explore, so couldn't spare the time to actively campaign on this epochal event. But now the stupid electorate have voted the wrong way, they feel it's only fair that there should be another referendum where their own weighty, statesmanlike opinions can be appropriately digested and then followed by the plebs.

UKIP looked like losing the by-election in Stoke - this misplaced intervention in the form of a bucketful of oleaginousness from two heartily and universally despised men might just have swung it around for them.
